This class is for kids and young adults ages 4 – 18. Unlike most mainstream photography courses, participants will explore how to paint and photograph pure light. Light offers us an array of color, beauty, and mystery, all of which can be used to illustrate our emotions and desires. In this class, participants will explore how to photograph pure light. Rather than taking photographs of objects or people, students will will be ‘painting with light’, using long exposures to capture the abstract beauty and rhythm of ‘light trails’ using moving LED lights. Participants do not need to have any previous experience in photography or technical knowledge, merely an open mind. The sessions will emphasize the value of self-expression and experimentation through photography. All materials are provided.
